We offer our guests the opportunity to kick back, relax and enjoy the unspoiled
beauty of the Klein Karoo, situated 350km from Cape Town and 100km from
Oudtshoorn. We strive to provide our guests with the opportunity to meet new and
old friends, exchange stories, and enjoy the spectacular mountain views.
The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Klein Karoo, nestled in the foothills of the
Rooiberg Mountains, and extends over some 6 500 hectares of fynbos and the
succulent Karoo. Located in the Assegaay Bosch Nature Reserve between Ladismith
and Calitzdorp just outside the quaint village, Vanwyksdorp.
We are situated in the heart of the Klein Karoo, surrounded by an astonishing floral
kingdom, an abundance of wildlife and birdlife and boasts the acceptance of the
internationally recognized Gouritz Initiative conservation program.
Self-catering Chalets
Luxury chalets are situated close to the watering hole, where you can view antelope
and birds flocking to drink. Our chalets have air conditioning and heating, a small
kitchenette with a coffee and tea bar, and luxury linen. Relax on the veranda and
experience the magnificent sunsets over the mountains and watering holes.

The Loft
The comfortable loft rooms offer overnight shelter or down-to-earth
accommodation for nature lovers. Perfect for larger groups, sports teams, and
school outings at inexpensive rates. The Loft can accommodate a total of 50 guests
where you have the choice of single rooms, double rooms, and groups of 4 and 6
persons per room and boasts shared his/her’s spacious bathrooms with baths and
showers. There are also leisure /reading lounges. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Self-catering Villa
1 Bedroom villa with the option to add 3 more rooms, perfect for families and friends wanting to come together and enjoy the spectacular views and spacious house. Our self-catering boasts its own private swimming pool and barbeque facilities. Fully equipped for self-catering.

7 luxury Suites, all en-suite, coffee and tea bar, and luxury linen. The Suites are situated at the top of the hill, overlooking the watering hole, where you can view buck and the occasional zebra, the views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular.

Campsite
The ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts to set up camp at this small secluded site which is situated at the watering hole with modern, serviced ablution and braai facilities.
R 300 per campsite for 2 guests additional guests at R 150 pppn.
Restaurant
Wine and dine in our homely, thatched restaurant and our fully licensed bar or out on the veranda overlooking the swimming pool and watering hole. Guests can sample traditional South African cuisine, and choose from an excellent selection of locally produced wine. Special dietary requirements are catered for on request.
Activities
Rooiberg Lodge has a variety of activities for the whole family, there are a range of routes for avid walkers, adventurous mountain bikers, in the unspoiled Assegaay Bosch Nature Reserve. All activities to be prebooked and weather dependant.
Nature Drives:
Morning and afternoon nature drive to explore what the Klein Karoo has to offer. With a coffee or drink stop along the way enjoying nature and the fresh air. Needs to be prebooked.
Stargazing:
Rooiberg Lodge is where the stars light up and put on a beautiful show, enjoy Stargazing, otherwise known as the Bushman TV.
Olive Tour:
Join our guides to visit the Mont Rouge Olive estate for a close experience of how olives and olive oil is produced from an award-winning Olive Estate that received best olive oil in the world in the New York Olive Oil Competition in 2017.
Birding:
We have a variety of bird species in our environment. Make sure to ask for the full bird list at reception.
The picture-perfect natural setting, surrounded by fynbos, succulents, and rare Klein Karoo plant species makes Rooiberg Lodge the perfect getaway for unique weddings, Birthday celebrations, family reunions or business functions.
